Altman also indicated that this is a “giant, costly” model. The CEO of OpenAI also made it clear that this model will not “smash” benchmarks. “It’s another type of intelligence, and there’s a magic in it I haven’t experienced before,” he declared.
GPT 4.5: What Does It Bring?
By OpenAI, preliminary testing demonstrates that GPT 4.5 provides a more natural and intuitive user interface. The model has an expanded knowledge base, better alignment with user intent, and increased emotional intelligence, making it especially well-suited for tasks like writing assistance, programming, and everyday problem-solving, as stated by OpenAI in a blog post. In addition, OpenAI reports that GPT-4.5 will likely have fewer cases of “hallucinations,” where AI produces incorrect or nonsensical information.
With that said, while it is an improved model, GPT 4.5 is not a frontier AI model. OpenAI makes it clear that although the model improves computational efficiency and user experience, it does not add significantly new capabilities in comparison to earlier models such as o1 or o3-mini.
GPT-4.5 was created with new supervision methods along with conventional methods like supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning from human feedback. Availability of GPT 4.5
First, GPT-4.5 is available to developers and ChatGPT Pro users, with a rollout plan to expand availability to Plus and Team users within the next week and then to Enterprise and Education users. Furthermore, the model is now integrated into Microsoft’s Azure AI Foundry platform, bringing it to enterprise customers.
