“The fire has been extinguished; there have been some incidents though no casualties have been found as of now. The situation is under control, ” said District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandar of Prayagraj.

The fire broke out at around 4:10 p.m. as per the government statement, in the Geeta Press camp’s kitchen that is near Karpatriji’s camp in sector 19, old railway bridges to new railway bridges in between the areas for Mahakumbh Mela.

Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, was present at the site of the fire to get an idea of the situation at the emergency response level.
